What Are Dashboard Color Themes, and What Do They Change?
Dashboard color themes are ready-made palettes that set every color on a chart at once. Instead of choosing a color for each series and hoping the axis and tooltip match, you pick one dashboard color palette and the whole tile follows.
Adoptiv has six: Adoptiv Default, Vivid, Pastel, Mono Blue, Mono Green and Print. Each sets the series colors, axis, grid lines, card fill, tooltip and title, plus the fill inside a donut, the outline between treemap tiles and the funnel accent. Mono Blue and Mono Green give monochrome charts; Print gives print-friendly charts for the client pack.
Five of the six carry a separate dark set, swapped the moment dark mode switches on, without reloading, so a dark mode dashboard stays readable. The default palette works differently: most of its chart colors follow your workspace’s own primary color and re-skin themselves for dark mode.
A palette holds eight colors, and a ninth series starts again from the first. Palettes are pinned per tile on your dashboards, and a tile can bypass its palette with a fixed list, a color per series, or green and red by sign. To color only the bars that break a rule, use conditional formatting.

What are dashboard color themes?
Ready-made palettes that set every color on a chart at once: the series, axis, grid, tooltip and title. Adoptiv has six: Adoptiv Default, Vivid, Pastel, Mono Blue, Mono Green and Print.
Can I set one palette for a whole dashboard?
Not in one go. A palette is pinned to each tile, so to dress a whole board, pin it on each tile.
Can I make my own palette?
No. Adoptiv manages the palette list, and your team picks from it for any tile. A tile can also bypass the palette with a fixed color list, a color per series, or green and red by sign.
How many colors does a palette have?
Eight. A chart with a ninth series starts the colors again, so two series would share one.
Do palettes work in dark mode?
Yes. Five palettes carry their own dark set, and the default palette re-skins itself, so charts stay readable when dark mode is on.
Can a chart show gains in green and losses in red?
Yes. A tile can bypass its palette to color values green or red by sign.
Palette vs conditional formatting: what’s the difference?
A palette sets every color on a tile by default. Conditional formatting overrides the color only for the bars or cells that break a rule.
