A Microsoft Exchange CRM integration connects your Exchange calendar and contacts to your CRM. Adoptiv’s Exchange Sync rides on the same Microsoft sign-in that carries your Outlook mail, and works as both an Exchange Online CRM sync and an on-premises Exchange CRM integration.
You don’t have to say where your mailbox lives. Each connection is routed on its own, from your saved choice, the connection type, your mail domain, then a cloud default, which is what a hybrid Exchange CRM sync needs. Both paths do the same things, so moving from your own server to Microsoft 365 isn’t a rebuild.
Microsoft 365 mailboxes connect through Microsoft’s current interface, never as an Exchange Web Services CRM connection on the older EWS that Microsoft is retiring. Calendar events travel both ways, matched on Exchange’s own ID, from 30 days back to a year ahead, and a cancellation removes the event. Microsoft pushes changes as they happen, and a sweep every ten minutes runs underneath.
Contacts are read in from your Exchange address book, and nothing is written back. Synced events are kept in Exchange Sync’s own store, not on Adoptiv’s calendar screen, which shows meetings booked in Adoptiv and those from Google Calendar. Mail comes through Outlook and Microsoft 365. Disconnecting clears the stored sign-in and leaves your Adoptiv login untouched.

Does it sync email?
Email comes through the Outlook / Microsoft 365 connection. This connection covers your calendar and contacts.
Do I need to tell Adoptiv where my server is?
No. It works out whether the mailbox is in Microsoft 365 or on your own server.
Do Exchange meetings show on Adoptiv’s calendar screen?
Not today. Exchange Sync keeps your Exchange calendar in a store of its own. The calendar screen shows meetings booked in Adoptiv and those synced from Google Calendar.

Can a CRM connect to an on-premises Exchange Server?
Adoptiv can. Exchange Sync works with a server in your own building and with Exchange Online, and finds which one your mailbox is on.
Will my calendar sync stop working when EWS is retired?
Not for Microsoft 365 mailboxes: Adoptiv connects them through Microsoft’s current interface, and refuses to set a cloud mailbox up on EWS.
Can I sync Exchange contacts to Adoptiv?
Yes, one way: your Exchange contacts are read into Adoptiv. Nothing is written back to your address book.
What is the difference between Exchange Online and Exchange Server?
Exchange Online is Microsoft’s hosted email, part of Microsoft 365. Exchange Server runs on your own hardware. Adoptiv works with both.
