How to Add Leads to Sequences Automatically.
To add leads to sequences automatically, you name the event that should start the sequence, and Adoptiv adds every lead that matches as soon as it happens. Nobody builds, exports or uploads a list, and no lead waits for someone to get around to it.
These are trigger-based email sequences with three triggers: a lead is created, a stage changes, or a tag is added. You can start a sequence when a lead is created, when it reaches a stage you choose, or when it gets a particular tag. Adding happens with the save itself, so a sequence starts filling the moment it goes live.
Four checks you set keep follow-up sensible: skip anyone active in a different sequence, keep it to one contact per company, skip anyone emailed in the last so many days, and hold back a control group. Can leads be added to a sequence automatically?
Yes. Choose the event on the sequence (a new lead, a stage change or a tag being added), and every lead that matches is added the moment it happens.
What stops someone being added twice?
Nobody can be in the same sequence twice. You can also skip anyone already active in another sequence.
Can I still add leads by hand?
Yes. Add one person from the sequence screen, or a whole list with a bulk action. The same checks apply however people arrive.
What is a control group?
A percentage of people you hold back from the sequence to compare against. Each person is always in or always out, never sometimes.
Does it add people who are on my suppression list?
No. A suppressed address, a sequence that isn’t live and anyone already in it are always refused, even with every other check turned off.
Does automatic adding wait for a scheduled run?
No. A lead is added with the same save that created, moved or tagged it, so follow-up begins straight away.
Do the checks apply to bulk adds?
Yes. Your four checks and the three built-in ones apply whether people are added one at a time, in bulk or automatically.
What does “emailed recently” mean?
You set a number of days. Anyone your team wrote to inside that window is skipped.
Can someone end up half added?
No. Every check runs first, and only then is the person added, so there is never a half-finished add.
