Activities & Timeline

Nobody writes this up. What changed and who changed it is read back out of the tables it already sits in, and an edit keeps both readings, what the field said before and what it says now, so the entry still means something six months later.

The feed
Calls, voicemails and texts are not in this feed · they are the touchpoint history, from a different set of tables entirely
Each of these is its own query against its own table, with its own ordering, over-fetched and then merged and re-sorted into one column. Nothing here was typed into a timeline; every row is the by-product of doing the work.

The mechanism

How it works.

01

Composed, never typed

The record being created, fields being edited, two separate activity tables, notes, comments, mail and the deals it was attached to are read from where they already sit and interleaved by when they happened.

02

What it said, what it says, and who

An edit stores the field's written label, what it said before, what it says now, the person and the moment. That is why an entry reads as a sentence instead of a diff nobody can interpret six months later.

03

A rename does not rewrite last quarter

A stage or source change is written with the names of the two stages, not their internal identifiers. Rename the stage afterward and the entry from last quarter still reads exactly as it did on the day.

04

Nothing quietly disappears

A deleted note or comment leaves its entry standing, and a note reopened more than a minute after it was written leaves an edited entry beside the original, so the history does not silently rewrite itself.

Where it sits

Two moments in every record.

Every record passes through the same seven. Activities & Timeline is the lit ones, and everything either side of it is a different page in this category.

8 facts
Merges
Creation, field edits, two activity tables, notes, comments, deal links and mail
Each edit
Field label, previous value, new value, the person and the timestamp
Labels
Seventy-three fields carry written labels; anything else falls back to its name
Custom fields
Recorded one at a time, labeled from the field definition rather than as a blob
Rendering
Yes and no for booleans. Stage and source read as names; other references stay identifiers
Not the phone
Calls, voicemails and texts are the touchpoint history, on their own line
Views are remembered
Opening a lead stamps who and when against it, for a recently-viewed list rather than as an audit trail
Paging
Twenty-five entries at a time, a hundred as the ceiling

11 capabilities

The system of record the phone writes to directly - nothing to sync.

Deals & Pipelines

Each stage carries its own odds, so where a deal sits is already most of a forecast. Unlimited pipelines, seven seeded, every stage change written down.

Lead Stages

Name the stages your floor actually argues about, color them and rate them hot, warm or cold. Six fixed categories keep last quarter comparable with this one.

Lead Sources

The same source can never arrive spelled three ways. Ten come seeded and sealed, yours sit beside them, and renaming one carries every lead holding it.

Custom Fields

The thing your business tracks that no CRM ships with. Eleven types on leads, deals, products and vendors, no migration to schedule and nobody to wait on.

Field Groups & Layouts

Some of what you collect is not for everyone on the floor. Close a whole section once per profile instead of opening and shutting a hundred fields one by one.

Saved Views

Hand a list to a CRM role rather than a person and the question outlives whoever first asked it. A new hire opens the board instead of rebuilding it daily.

Advanced Filtering

Ask the same question tomorrow and the list narrows the same way, because the server settles it. Eighteen operators, fitted to the kind of field they sit on.

Bulk Actions

Tick the rows and act on them now. A mixed selection never fails whole: the records you may not touch are skipped and counted, and the rest all go through.

Bulk Import

Map the columns once and walk away. A file of any size is read a piece at a time, a failed row never stops the run, and a restart carries on where it stopped.

Duplicate Detection

The same person landing on your list twice is what this stops. Checked on the email, then the phone, as the record is written, with no score to argue over.

Goals & Leaderboards

A number, a window, and somebody standing against it. Attainment is worked out from won deals and logged work as you open it, so nothing sits going stale.
