Advanced Filtering
Narrow the list in the column you are standing on, and the same question asked tomorrow narrows it the same way, because the server settles it rather than the browser. Finding one person is the search box; keeping the answer is what a view is for.

How it works.
The column offers what it can answer
Text takes contains, starts, ends, their negations and the two emptiness checks. Numbers take the four comparisons and between. Dates take before and after. Which of them you are shown is decided by the type the column holds.
What you pick is what actually runs
The grid draws eighteen operators and the server resolves every one of them, a date range and both not-between forms included. What you pick off the menu is what narrows the list, which is why a view built on one behaves the same tomorrow.
Searching and filtering are not the same tool
The search box runs a trigram index built over the two name columns, email, two of the four numbers, job title and city. It needs three characters and returns a bounded match set, because it is a find box rather than a report.
A filter on your own field costs a second pass
Contains and equals on a custom field are pushed into the database, which narrows what has to be fetched. The comparison itself still happens in memory over that slice, as does any group joining conditions with and or or.
One moment in every record.
Every record passes through the same seven. Advanced Filtering is the lit one, and everything either side of it is a different page in this category.

The specifics.
8 facts- Operators
- Contains, starts, ends, equals, the four comparisons, between and not between, before, after, a date range, and the emptiness checks with their negations
- Text columns
- Take eight of the eighteen, both emptiness checks among them
- Date columns
- Before, after, and a range between two dates, resolved on the server like every other operator
- Search index
- First and last name, email, two of the four numbers, job title and city
- Search floor
- Three characters minimum, and the match set is capped at five hundred
- Custom fields
- Any filter on one costs an in-memory pass, whatever the operator
- That pass
- Ten thousand rows at most. Past that, the count and the page describe the window
- Paging
- Twenty-five rows a page unless you say otherwise, capped at two hundred
What else writes to this record.
A record is worked by more than one part of the system at once. These are the ones that put something on it, or read it back.

11 capabilitiesThe system of record the phone writes to directly - nothing to sync.
Each stage carries its own odds, so where a deal sits is already most of a forecast. Unlimited pipelines, seven seeded, every stage change written down.
Name the stages your floor actually argues about, color them and rate them hot, warm or cold. Six fixed categories keep last quarter comparable with this one.
The same source can never arrive spelled three ways. Ten come seeded and sealed, yours sit beside them, and renaming one carries every lead holding it.
Some of what you collect is not for everyone on the floor. Close a whole section once per profile instead of opening and shutting a hundred fields one by one.
Map the columns once and walk away. A file of any size is read a piece at a time, a failed row never stops the run, and a restart carries on where it stopped.
The same person landing on your list twice is what this stops. Checked on the email, then the phone, as the record is written, with no score to argue over.
Nobody writes this up. A field change keeps both readings, before and after, beside the notes, mail and tasks, so it still means something in six months.
Every exchange with this lead on one line: calls, voicemails, mail and text. A call lands on the right record by the number it reached, linked by nobody.
A thing owed, by a named person, by a date. At the hour you set it leaves the product to find them, rather than sitting in a list waiting to be spotted.
The rep two desks over cannot open the book you are working, and one BPO client never sees the next. Sixteen permissions, sharing rules across branches.
A number, a window, and somebody standing against it. Attainment is worked out from won deals and logged work as you open it, so nothing sits going stale.
The rest of the platform.
Five more categories, all on the same record and the same bill. Each card names three of its capabilities, so you can tell from here whether it is worth opening.
