What Goes Wrong Today, and What Changes.
Today
The ad airs at 9pm, the caller is in a hospital parking lot, and the call rings out to the next firm on the page.
With Adoptiv
Hours are set per number, so after hours goes where you choose: on-call staff, a queue with callbacks or your night vendor. A caller who hangs up can be texted back from the number they dialed.
Business hoursToday
Cost per signed case runs the firm, but intake can only report cost per call.
With Adoptiv
Claim a number per tort, creative or TV market, each with its own flow. The outcome carries that number onto the lead, so a spot is judged on signed retainers, not rings.
Phone numbersToday
A seriously injured claimant is hard to reach, and one attempt at 11am proves nothing.
With Adoptiv
Call tasks in a sequence spread the attempts across the week, a text tells them who called, and each attempt’s outcome decides the next.
Call tasksToday
One wrong answer on date of incident or prior counsel, and the firm works a file worth nothing.
With Adoptiv
The qualifying questions sit in the call flow and the answers land in custom fields, so the statute date is a field, not a note. Outcomes like already represented close the file their own way.

Legal Intake Software, for the Calls Your Ads Paid For.
Legal intake software answers, qualifies and follows up the calls a firm’s advertising brings in, and shows which campaign each signed case came from. Adoptiv is a law firm phone system with intake built into the CRM, for plaintiff, personal injury and mass tort teams.
After-hours legal intake starts with business hours set per number. Outside them a call goes where you decide: on-call staff, a queue that offers a callback, or your night vendor. A caller who hangs up can be texted back from the number they dialed, and the thread waits for the morning shift.
Call tracking for law firms works by claiming a number per campaign: per tort, creative or TV market, each with its own flow. The outcome carries that number onto the lead, so a spot can be judged on cost per signed case rather than ring counts.
Personal injury intake means qualifying carefully. Questions sit in the call flow and answers land in custom fields, so the statute date is a field your team fills in. Both sides of the sign-up call are recorded for review, and every attempt lands on the record, as a law firm intake call center needs. The outcome then starts the chase: a call task, an email and a text.

Legal Intake Software vs a Line and an Answering Service.
| What | A shared line and an answering service | With Adoptiv |
|---|---|---|
| Calls after the ad airs | A shared line and an answering service: Ring out or go to voicemail | With Adoptiv: Routed by your hours to on-call staff, a queue or your night vendor |
| Caller hung up | A shared line and an answering service: Lost | With Adoptiv: Texted back from the number they dialed |
| Which ad signed the case | A shared line and an answering service: Unknown, so cost per call | With Adoptiv: A number per campaign, carried onto the lead |
| Qualification | A shared line and an answering service: Notes typed during the call | With Adoptiv: Answers in fields on the record |
| The sign-up call | A shared line and an answering service: Nobody heard it | With Adoptiv: Recorded on both sides, ready to review |
Adoptiv has no conflicts check, e-signature or case management connection yet.
Your Questions, Answered.
What is legal intake software?
Software that answers, qualifies and follows up the calls a firm’s advertising brings in, and records which campaign each case came from. Adoptiv puts the phone system, routing and texting inside the CRM.
How does after-hours legal intake work?
Business hours are set per number. Outside them a call goes where you decide: on-call staff, a queue that offers a callback, or your night vendor. A caller who hangs up can be texted back from the number they dialed.
How does call tracking for law firms work in Adoptiv?
Buy a number for each tort, creative or TV market and point each at its own call flow. The outcome carries the number onto the lead. It needs a number per campaign: there is no built-in TV or radio airing attribution.
Does Adoptiv run conflict checks or send retainers?
Not yet. There is no conflicts check: duplicate detection catches the same lead bought twice, which is not the same thing. There is no e-signature or retainer delivery either. Adoptiv handles the calls and the follow-up around the retainer.
Can intake call people who haven’t contacted the firm?
Bar rules restrict soliciting clients by live phone call, and they apply to anyone calling on the firm’s behalf. Adoptiv is built for answering and calling back people who contacted you or asked to be called, and the rules vary by state. This is general information, not legal advice; check with your own counsel.
How do we reach claimants who are hard to get hold of?
Put call tasks in a sequence to spread attempts across the week, not the hour. A text from the same number tells them who called, and each attempt’s outcome decides the next.
Is the sign-up call recorded?
Yes. Both sides are recorded on separate channels and kept with the call, so it can be reviewed and scored. No recording announcement is played, so recording consent and retention stay with the firm. This is general information, not legal advice; check with your own counsel.
Does Adoptiv calculate the statute of limitations?
No. The statute date is a field your intake team fills in. Limitation periods vary by state, by claim type and by discovery rule, so Adoptiv never works one out.
Does Adoptiv handle mass tort intake?
It handles the phone side: a number per tort, qualifying answers in fields, and outcomes that close a disqualified file its own way. There is no built-in case management connection.
